State lawmakers narrowly reject a measure that would tighten California’s concealed carry rules, and reject a new 10% gun tax, after Republicans and Central Valley Democrats vote no.

 

 

 

Homeless people

State lawmakers pass Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new “CARE Court” plan to steer — and sometimes require — homeless people with severe mental illness to treatment. But more funding is needed.
